22 killed in suicide car bombings 

  Iraqi officials say 22 people were killed when two explosives-laden vehicles driven by suicide bombers blew up near a government compound south of Baghdad.


     A police officer and two medical officials in the southern city of
Diwaniyah said the bombers blew themselves up near a compound housing the governor's office and other buildings.
     Dozens of people were wounded in the Tuesday morning attack.

     Diwaniyah is 80 miles (130 kilometers) south of
Baghdad.

     The officials spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to speak to the media.
