Jackson killed himself with drugs

Defense says Jackson killed himself with drugs
Doctor's manslaughter trial opens with grim photo, audio of singer slurring words
LOS ANGELES — First, prosecutors showed a photo of Michael Jackson's pale and lifeless body lying on a gurney. Then, they played a recording of his voice, just weeks before his death.
Slow and slurred, his words echoed Tuesday through a Los Angeles courtroom at the start of the trial of the doctor accused of killing him. As a worldwide audience watched on TV and Jackson's family looked on from inside the courtroom, a drugged Jackson said:
"We have to be phenomenal. When people leave this show, when people leave my show, I want them to say, 'I've never seen nothing like this in my life. Go. Go. I've never seen nothing like this. Go. It's amazing. He's the greatest entertainer in the world.'"

The last edition of the News of the World (NoW) has been published, its front page declaring: "Thank you & goodbye."
Editor Colin Myler, after leading staff from the building late on Saturday, said: "This is not where we want to be and not where we deserve to be."
Publisher News International axed the 168-year-old tabloid in the wake of phone-hacking allegations last week.
In a full-page inside editorial, the paper offers an apology. "Quite simply, we lost our way," it says.
Rupert Murdoch is due to arrive in the UK this weekend to take charge of handling the phone-hacking crisis.

Prince William and new bride Princess Catherine arrived in Canada their international debut as Britain’s royal golden couple.

Star power will win skeptical Canadians over to the monarchy.

William and Kate, her dark hair blowing in the wind, stepped off the plane under overcast skies to be greeted by dignitaries before rushing off to their first official engagement on foreign soil.

Thousands desperate to glimpse newlyweds lined the streets of Ottawa ahead of a wreath-laying ceremony at a First World War memorial.

Prince William has plenty of experience of royal duties, his wife — known until recently as Kate Middleton — is still a rookie in the public eye.

At the start of the nine-day tour of the key British Commonwealth nation, Princess Catherine was to have an immediate chance to show she had learnt the ropes, meeting and greeting the gathering throng after the ceremony.

Sports world:England becomes new hub for Tigers

Sports world:England becomes new hub for Tigers

England is increasingly becoming the new hub for Bangladeshi cricketers as at least six Bangladeshi players are currently involved in their domestic cricket.
The latest in the list is national team opener and vice-captain Tamim Iqbal, who has been picked up by Nottinghamshire for their ongoing Friends Life Twenty20 tournament.
Tamim will join his skipper Sakib al Hasan, who is starring for Worcestershire for the last two seasons.
Sakib was hoping that his performance would open a door for the Bangladeshi players in England, though that was not the case.
Tamim Iqbal, now the second Bangladeshi to win a contact from county side, had to wait until Australian David Hussey decided to leave Notts Outlaws to fulfil his international commitment.
The Bangladeshi players, however, are playing in regional competitions of England quite often.
At least four players, who are currently out of the national side but can make a comeback anytime, are involved in such competitions, popularly known as Minor County.
Discarded middle-order batsman Mehrab Hossain Jr is playing for Blythe CC in the Staffs & Cheshire Div 1 while pace bowler Syed Rasel, who got a perfect condition to use his main weapon – swing bowling – in England, is playing for Halstead Cricket Club in Essex League.
‘It’s a huge benefit for players. Every day you will see a new condition and you have to adapt to that. You can’t get this experience anywhere else,’ he said.
Faruque added that Aminul Islam was the first Bangladeshi player to have played in England when he featured in the Yorkshire League for a few years in the mid-1990s.
Faruque, however, was reluctant to compare the experience of Sakib and Tamim with theirs.

longest natural sea beach of the world

longest natural sea beach of the world

Cox's Bazar is the longest natural sea beach of the world
The history of Cox's Bazar begins in the Mughal period. On his way to Arakan, when the Mughal Prince Shah Shuja  passed through the hilly terrain of the present day Cox’s Bazar, he was attracted to the scenic and captivating beauty of the region. He commanded his forces to camp there. A place named Dulahazara, meaning "one thousand palanquins", still exists in the area.
After the Mughals, the place came under the control of the Tipras and the Arakanese, followed by the Portuguese and then the British.
The name Cox's Bazar/Bazaar derived from the name of Captain James Cox of the East India, who was in charge of the naval base. In 1854, Cox's Bazar was made a subdivisional headquarters.
After the end of British rule, Cox's Bazar remained part of East Pakistan. Captain Advocate Fazlul Karim was the first chairman after independence from the British of Cox's Bazar municipality. He established the Tamarisk Forest along the beach to draw tourism to the town and to protect the beach from the tide. He donated many of his father-in-law's and his own lands to establish a public library and town hall. In 1971, the wharf was used as a naval port by the Pakistan Navy's gunboats. This and the nearby airstrip of the Pakistan Air Force were the scene of intense shelling by the Indian Navy during the Bangladesh Liberation War in 1971.
In 1984 Cox's Bazar was made a District.

Gaddafi Chess Game

The Libyan leader has been playing chess with the visiting Russian head of the World Chess Federation.
The federation is headed by the eccentric Kirsan Ilyumzhinov, who until last year was the leader of Russia's predominantly Buddhist republic of Kalmykia. He once claimed to have visited an alien spaceship.
Libyan state television showed Gadhafi, dressed all in black and wearing dark sunglasses, playing chess Sunday evening with his Russian guest. He seemed somewhat unsure of how the game is played.

"I offered to draw, because it's not polite to win when you're a guest, " Interfax quoted Ilyumzhinov as saying Monday.
